Community Updates: KCP RLCS Takes 2nd in Open 5

We are well on our way into the 2026 seasons with esports teams and tournaments. Check out the highlights below:

KCP RLCS Takes 2nd in Open 5

Another Open for RLCS, another 2nd place for the Pioneers. As expected during the Swiss & Group Stages, the Pioneers rolled through the bracket, only dropped a couple games on the way.

Once the Playoffs started, The Pioneers went through the Upper Bracket taking down Astronic 4-1. In the Semifinals, the Pioneers took down Brocrocros 4-1 as well. Going up against the arch rivals of Five Fears brought about similar results. All the games were incredibly close, but Five Fears prevailed 4-0 once again. The Pioneers struggled to generate much offense. Now we look forward to the playoffs of Open 6. KCP needs to win and Five Fears to lose before the Finals to have a chance to continue there season.

Casey Kirwan Returns to the Pioneers

After an incredible run all the way to the Championship Finale live in Charlotte last year under the Pioneers banner and a 2nd place finish, the biggest brand in eNASCAR returns to the Pioneers. Announced on April 3rd, Casey is returning and gearing up for another Championship push to reclaim his crown and take home a second title!

The Finals Esports Returns

The Finals Esports Returns on May 22nd! Embark Studios announced the new roadmap with an increased prize pool for the 2026 season and a new format. The Grand Major, which will take place at DreamHack Stockholm in November, will have a $150,000 prize pool and another $50,000 up for grabs during the Online Series.

There are three phases, Swiss, Top 16, and Top 8 Show Day. Teams can earn points and cash the further they progress in the online series. 1st in Points at the end of the season gets a direct invite to The Grand Major, places 2-5th get a direct invite to the closed qualifier, and 6th-9th get a head start in the open qualifiers.

Make sure to support Sloth, Varieyn, and Tmills as they battle their way through the online portion the rest of the year leading to the Grand Major qualifiers!
